Climate Change Simulator

Future Earths XR is an artistic interpretation of humans driving climate change. Technically, it consists of three projection surfaces, motion capture cameras, audio wearables, and a real-time audiovisual rendering system. How guests interact with other guest in this immersive room impacts the severity of the climate; the metaphor being that by working together we can mitigate and adapt to climate change. The climate is represented abstractly by a roving landscape and nature on the floor. In addition to that, the particles on the floor guide guests to other guests, as well as poems on the walls. The audio wearables recite poems at key moments.
The project was created for Nokia Bell Labs as part of their 1 year residency. Visual by Yago de Quay, music by Zackery Wilson, and floor texture by teamLab.
